Jason Black (Partner) is one of the two founding partners of Weinstein & Black and practices with an emphasis in the areas of business law, general civil litigation, family law and criminal law.
Jason has 13 years experience as a law enforcement officer before transitioning into the practice of law. During that time, 11 ½ years were spent with the Commerce Police Department as a patrol officer, supervisor, narcotics detective, general detective and task force officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration. The last two years he worked with the Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office as an investigator and a 3rd year law student. During that time, valuable insights were gained into the prosecution of cases and courtroom experience.
While working full-time, Jason earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Liberty University and continued his education attending Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Upon completion, he began his legal career, gaining valuable experience with the law firm of Carter Pilgrim Stroud, before deciding in 2020 to partner with Michael Weinstein to create Weinstein & Black.
Hard work, paying attention to detail, and being aggressive, while relying on the skills learned being in law enforcement, are the keys to his success as an attorney. Helping friends, families and neighbors in the community and providing exceptional service addressing any problem that requires an attorney’s skills is the goal. There has never been a task too big for him and Jason looks forward to making relationships and helping clients for years to come.
Married 16 years, Jason and his wife, Sarah, raise two children in Jefferson, Georgia. He is active in youth athletics, coaching the very successful Glory Adkins 16U Gold softball team from Georgia.
